McCarran Boulevard Corridor Study

Improving mobility and safety, and enhancing economic development opportunities along McCarran Boulevard.

The McCarran Boulevard Corridor Study is being led by the Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Washoe County, in close collaboration with the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT). Other project partners include Washoe County and the cities of Reno and Sparks.

About the Project

This study will take an in-depth look at transportation issues and opportunities along the 23-mile ring road encircling the Reno-Sparks urbanized area. This multimodal transportation study will begin by researching and analyzing existing conditions along the corridor, including traffic volumes, safety, transit service, pedestrian and bicycle facilities, and land use. Next, the study will identify different types of transportation needs, based on a combination of technical analysis and community/stakeholder outreach. The end result will be a set of recommendations for improving mobility and safety and enhancing economic development opportunities along the corridor.
