The Western Nevada Safe Routes to School Program is developing the Douglas County Safe Routes to School Plan in partnership with Douglas County, the Douglas County School District, and the Nevada Department of Transportation. The purpose of the plan is to improve the safety of students walking and bicycling to school. The outcome of the plan will be a list of construction projects to improve student transportation safety that can be implemented by partner agencies.
We want to hear from you!
As part of the planning process, we’re asking parents, teachers, students, and other interested residents to tell us about their experiences and ideas related to the safety of walking and bicycling to school. An in-person public meeting was held on May 4, 2023. There are several additional ways to participate:
- View the display boards, provide feedback via the online survey, and comment on the interactive map anytime between Monday, May 1 and Friday, June 23, 2023.
- Reach the project team via email at [email protected] to ask questions or provide additional comments.
